you're a dumb fuck

5 things account for the entire U.S. government budget deficit. Nice clear chart from the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities.

So, we have been trying this “trickle down” bullshit for, oh, about 30 -35 years now. Can we please all wake up and see that keeping tax cuts for the rich does NOT encourage economic growth?
Remember when Clinton raised taxes and everyone predicted a huge recession? Instead, we saw robust expansion and the GOP turned right around and said, “This is left over from Regan!” So, we gave the rich tax breaks again and look what is happening!
Obama needs to get serious and put his foot down on this. The Bush-era tax cuts are NOT helping anyone.

The Letter and all 41 Names: 41 Senators Sign Letter Opposing 'Extreme' GOP Plan to End Support for Women's Health and Family Planning Services

keepyourboehneroutofmyuterus:

Dear Majority Leader Reid and Minority Leader McConnell:

During this economic downturn, many women and families are struggling to make ends meet, and are relying on women’s health and family planning centers for access to essential health care services such as breast exams, other cancer and disease screenings, contraception and more.

We write to you today to affirm our strong support for making women’s health and family planning services affordable and available, and ask that you stand with us against extreme proposals by some Members of the House to eliminate support for women’s health and family planning programs and providers that serve millions of women and families.

We know the Title X family planning program serves nearly five million low-income women and men at more than 4,500 health centers each year. Many of these people rely on Title X funded health care providers as their primary source of health care. Yet, the House-passed Continuing Resolution would eliminate all funding for Title X and leave millions of Americans at risk.

We also oppose the provision in the House-passed Continuing Resolution that cuts Planned Parenthood health centers off from federal funds used to provide cancer screenings, birth control and other preventive health care services to three million Americans every year.

Without access to these services, many of these women will be unable to get preventive screenings, be at far greater risk for diseases such as cancer and will face more unintended pregnancies.

Protecting women’s health is a goal we can all agree on. We urge you to stand with us against extreme proposals by some Members of the House that would harm women and their families.

Sincerely,

I urge everyone to go out and get the latest issue of Mother Jones.
It’ll make you hate Congress and rich people even more.

The bill then says if the Senate does not act, then H.R. 1 would be the law of the land.

‘Pass the Damn Thing!’: Boehner Unloads on Senate Democrats over Looming Government Shutdown - George Stephanopoulos’ Bottom Line

H.R. 1, as it stands, is the bill that eliminates all funding for Planned Parenthood, and for America’s Family Planning Program.

Congress has until April 8 to do something.

Come with us to DC on April 7.

except thats not the way a bill becomes a law and Eric Cunter is a lying weasel who just uses scare tatics

Rep. Eric Turner fears women will fake rape to get abortions, yet somehow doesn’t fear for actually raped women who might need one. Puzzling.
